Since My other puppy at home page was getting too large for people to load up, I decided to add a new page. For more emails and pictures like this, go to the AT Home page.

So Nancy took Hailey to the vet today for her shot and our vet, who we have used for over 20 years could not get over what a great dog she is. He said she is one of the best adjusted puppies he has ever seen.

He thought your list of stuff to have was great, the fact that she had a chart with her he could not get over and last but not least he said he has never had a breeder ask about lepto.

He wanted your info which we gave him. He said there are so many bad breeders out there that he wants to recommend people call you.

He thought the tee shirt idea was amazing and that he never heard of a breeder doing that.

You sure got a new fan today.
Thanks
Jeff

Hey,
Sorry its been a few weeks but I was out of town and wanted to send a few pictures with the note.
Hailey is doing great. She sleeps through the night in her crate and seems like she has always been here.

Boy does that dog loves to eat. Anything on the floor is fair game. Her nickname is hoover. She loves carrots. Go figure.

She is a great little dog and for that we have you to thank. She really has a great personality. You were right about busy, she can run Greg out of steam. They are truly partners in crime.

Nancy checks out the puppies on the web site just about every day.

Thanks again for all the advise and consul. She is a sweet dog and a member of our family from the car ride home.

Talk to you later,
Jeff Warner
Dear Marilyn ~ You DID it! You worked your magic! ( We really know that it's all about your knowledge and experience, your years of hard work, your dedication to your dogs, your profession, and to all of your families, but, isn't it a LITTLE bit fun to think of it as magic?!) We came to Indiana 2 and 1/2 weeks ago after filling out a Master Match form and after a few long and delightful phone calls w/ you,
knowing you had a houseful of sweet new puppies and a few preteens and teenagers there w/ you. You had mentioned, in one of our conversations, that you had a really special little
salt-and-pepper male. Just mentioned. And I had spent many enjoyable hours (really!) in your website, looking at the pictures of all the sweet mommies, the handsome daddies, the adorable
puppies (you did give a warning not to just fall in love with the puppies while looking at their pictures!), the cute preteens and teens, reading the wonderful stories from the delighted families who
have found (w/ the help of your magic :) their special companion(s) at Dragonward. I thought it would be really nice to find a black Schnauzer like our previous Schnauzer, Charlie. So we came,
not knowing exactly how our meeting and our day were going to go. We met the sweet mommies and saw their adorable puppies. We watched the preteens and teens out in the yard for a bit, and
noticed right away one little salt-and-pepper male who carried himself so nicely, and just seemed to stand out to us. You told us you'd let us meet the little boys one at a time, so out came #1, and
he was awfully sweet. And then out came #2. And he was the special little salt-and-pepper male you had mentioned. Just mentioned. And he went right over to Bill to say hello, and then came
over to me (and I was already a gonner!), and then we proceeded right in to take care of the paperwork to bring him home. Oh, my! You did mention, while we took care of the paperwork, that you
had known this little boy would probably be just the right fit for us. How about a fit like a glove?! We had a 3 and 1/2 hour drive west to St. Louis and home, with one good rest stop for a little walking
and playing. By the time we had been home for just a little while, and it was getting close to bedtime, Bill - the skeptic - said, "Marilyn really does know how to match her dogs with the right families,
doesn't she? This little guy is so comfortable, he acts like he's already been living with us for a long time!" And so it goes - it just gets better every day! How we love this little boy!
We had a time finding just the right name - Cash? (Cassius Clay is from Louisville, not too far from Dragonward, and my little guy loves to gently stand up w/ his paws on my knee and look lovingly
right into my eyes while I stroke him and tell him how very pretty he is!) - Archie? (I caught sight of the Arch, coming into St. Louis and said "We could call him Archie!" - no response from Bill!)
Finally, after "trying out" many names, and getting yeas or nays from various family members, Bill asked me why we didn't just name him Buddy, since I was already calling him my Buddy, and Bill
knew I'd continue to do that no matter what we chose for his name - so, Buddy he is!
Marilyn, you talked to us about personalities and energy levels, and you mentioned the "combination energy level", and you really had our Buddy pegged! He'll be 8 months old on March 20,
so he's an energetic pup - and SO helpful - helping you put your socks on, hiding your shoes for you, rearranging the throw rugs in the house - especially the ones that are 2-3X bigger than he is!
He's a lot of fun - but he's not crazy-hyper - and he loves to settle down for an afternoon nap, and he's amazingly calm - visiting the vet for a check-up, riding in the car, getting a good comb-out.
He is extremely social and cuddly, and he is so sweet w/ our little granddaughters.
You have magic, indeed! Thank you so very much. Our house is a happier house w/ a Schnauzer in it again! We do love our Buddy! Donna and Bill Martens
My best Buddy! Our little Ewok - haircut next week!

Kisses!

Good afternoon!

I thought I would send you an update regarding Romie and Raven. They are both very sweet and love everybody. They have adjusted to our home and other pets very well. We get a ton of compliments on them and they both enjoy going on walks. They also love playing outside.... rain or shine!

Thank you so much for the favor you have done us with their adoption... when we went to your house I wondered which one I would have to pick and we ended up taking them both home! lol That is a good thing because I might have been there all night trying to figure out which one... eeny meeny miney mo..... lol

I will keep you updated and I wish you great success with your new mare!

Dear Marilyn,
I have been meaning to write you for some time, and apologize at how
long over due this letter is:

I, Justine, Stephanie and Mike and the rest of the extended
family....We all wanted to tell you how absolutely happy we are with
the schnauzer puppy you chose for us..We gave you all our requirements
and have been consistently astounded at how you were able to fill our
order of "the perfect puppy and the perfect dog, member of our family.

Mike and Stephanie ended up naming him Enzo Asti........Enzo (meaning
"warrior") and the Asti is...well you guessed it, after the sparkling
Champaign Asti Spumoni ! He is the perfect little guy and member of
our family... giving us all lots of love! When he needs to have
energy, it is there, and is always up for chasing after balls or his
stuffed animals, paying "tug-a-war", or just plain following you
around...He is perfect in crowds of people and we have continued to
socialize him by taking him to "doggie day care", where he has lots of
dog buddies....He tends to be drown to and like the bigger dogs! In
fact we were informed when we had to put him in a kennel while we took
a trip to Florida, that he had developed a "crush" of a Borzoi named
Bella....who quickly became constant companions for the week we were
out of town !

He continually follows us throughout the apartment, intensely watching
everything we do as if he is taking notes to report pack to some alien
"mother-ship" of schnauzers, who may someday come back for him.......!

He learned his name very quickly and became house trained (apartment
trained) very quickly as well (maybe two or three accidents)! He loves
"comfort" and to be comfortable...loves standing in front of a space
heater and loves being stroked, cuddled, hugged and kissed....He is
always up for "play" and has recently become a expert at what
psychologists might call "self-soothing", in that he will hold a
stuffed animal in his mouth and bat a tennis ball along the floor for
as much as an hour.......he rarely if ever barks (maybe we have heard
him bark four or five times ever in his life with us)......blood
curtailing screams when he was suffering from "separation anxiety",
but as he has grown from a puppy to a teen ager....that appears to
have subsided.....He seemed to never go through any kind of
"destructive" phase and when we have guests, he is the perfect
gentleman...once he meets guests, he pretty much has no interest in
them and stays away.....! When ever we eat, he never comes near the
table and never "begs"....! I often give him a bath by taking him
into the shower with me and although he dose not offer to "jump in",
once he gets in he likes it and wants everyone to know how "sweet" he
smells after !

He is a creature of "comfort" and hates getting his feet wet outside
and refuses to go potty on wet grass or in the rain.....which coming
from indiana, seems a bit strange....but everyone is allowed their
"quirks" !

All in all, we feel completely blessed to have such a wonderful canine
son, and can not imagine our lifes with out his presence and thank god
everyday that we found Marilyn Ward and her schnauzers ! Thank you
Marilyn for this wonderful gift of a fabulous dog....Our Enzo Asti !

I have included a few photos of our Enzo
Best,
Stephen & Justine

I just received this email today from one of my people 6/17/11, I do appreciate short and sweet!!

We love this dog!  Joe

Dear Marilyn,

Just another note to send you a few pictures of our adorable Emmy!  She is so happy & healthy and that certainly shows what you do as a breeder!  Our Vet loves her and always compliments me on our breeder!   She is such a lover and as you can see by the pictures of her with Lee & I on Easter evening, we love to snuggle her!  Since she is 6 mos. today we will probably get a shorter Schnauzer cut this week at the groomer, but that puppy hair has been so wonderful to cuddle!

Can't thank you enough for what you do for Schnauzers!  I just cringe when I see these "new" MINI tiny ones that look like the size of a Chicuacua (or however you spell that!).  That is ruining a wonderful breed!!!

Will keep you posted, but Emmy sure seems like she will be the big side of Miniature.  What size is her mommy, Phoenix and daddy, Mnementh Tor?
Since she is 11.7 lbs. at 6 mos. I assume she will be like you said before, between 18-22 lbs.  Our last Schnauzer was 20 lb. at her healthy ages.

Thank you again, Love, Karen, Lee and Emmy Haight

Hi Marilyn-

First of all, thanks to you, Chris and Rachael  for making our 7 hour trip so unbelieveably memorable! There is nothing in this world like a Schnauzer "fix",  and Dragonward is not only peaceful and beautiful, it is sensory overload at it's best!

We've never experienced a more perfect puppy adoption (and we've adopted several over the years), because we didn't have to make the trip to make a puppy choice.  Knowing our likes and dislikes, you presented us with perfect puppies and one of them chose us! Believe me, Piper couldn't be a more perfect match for us, and we've all blended as a family immediately.  How do you raise a pup that sleeps all night, is housebroken, loves all people and dogs and is a happy "lap dog" the first day she's home?  I know you didn't promise any of these things, but one trip to stay at Dragonward and experience how you devote your life to raising and placing amazing puppies in loving homes, we begin to see the answer. You are very special.

We had one question as Piper made her first vet appearance today- has Piper had any heartworm preventative? We had usually done Heartguard orally each month- is that ok?

Again thanks.  As soon as Piper slows down, I'll try to catch some good pictures.

Mike and Becky Wayland

Hi Marilyn!

Princess Piper, her throne and her kingdom

Mike and Becky

Marilyn,

We hope this finds you well and prospering with all the Schnauzers!

This is a picture of Sadie taken with my cell phone today, so it’s not the best resolution, but I wanted a very current one for you.

A question we have is one of food for the adult Schnauzer. What are you feeding your kids?

She is doing well on all foods, but I thought I’d check with you since I know there is a huge difference in the quality across brands.

Sadie is a dream dog for us. She is very smart and highly trainable. She plays well with all the grandkids and other dogs. She warms up to guests in our home quickly. And she is great company for Susan when I’m out of town. She travels with us a lot and when we need to board her, we’ve found a exquisite place here in Bloomington called Top Dog Retreat, where she is one of their favorites. She does not show signs of moodiness at all and loves to play. She definitely Susan’s buddy, but I take her on at least two walks a day when I’m in town. I’m also back into the grooming business and she is patient there, too.

I sometimes wonder what it would have been like to get two Schnauzers from you when we got Sadie last March. If one comes back to you for some reason and you’re looking for a home, keep us in mind, although I’d have to work on Susan a bit!

In the meantime, be well and send me your recommendations on adult dog food, if you would.

Joe & Susan Nowlin
