As many of you know already. I always require a list of likes and dislikes from each potential family, to help me make a wonderful choice for a puppy to a new home. What follows was one of those submissions: Ode to a Schnauzer by Christina Evans There are many things we like about Schnauzers, yes it's true. Like being loyal and fun and cuddly to name just a few. We like a dog who is tolerant and likes playing with kids, but not one who will chew up all our shoes, carpets and lids. Mellow (rather than hyper) as a big boy is good but we know that puppies do tend to bounce and they should. We adore Schnauzer poses and expressions a lot, but chasing our cat we certainly do not! We would like a dog we can train to sit, stay and come when he's called. When dogs just run away, we are simply appalled. A few barks here and there are fine and ok, but please, oh please, not all night and all day! Biting and growling at people is scary, especially to our little ones and Great Grandpa Larry. Our pup will need to be a bit patient. and while a few hours away as we all go to school and to work every day. But don't fret and don't fear as right after lunch here comes Mama back near. We'll walk him and love him and boy will we play! We're imagining meeting him, won't that be the day!!! |
